The Master Keeper

The Master Keeper
Pastor Debbie Haynes

Jude warns us about ungodly people who quietly infiltrate the church, but surprisingly, he does not focus on dissecting their false teaching. Instead, he exposes their pride, presumption, and rejection of God’s authority. Even Michael the archangel, when contending with Satan, did not presume to pronounce judgment himself, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you.” The lesson is powerful: true spiritual authority is demonstrated not by arrogance, but by humble submission to God’s authority.

And this leads us to Jude’s beautiful theme: the Master Keeper. In an age of deception, our security is not found in knowing every false teaching or recognizing every voice around us. It is found in knowing the One who keeps us. We are called to keep ourselves in God’s love, while trusting Him who is able to keep us from stumbling and present us faultless before His glory with exceeding joy. Like Moses in the cleft of the rock, the safest place for God’s people is near Him—close enough to know His voice, recognize what is not of Him, and rest under His covering. The Master Keeper knows how to keep His own.
