The Prayers of Send Off

The Prayers of Send-Off
Pastor Debbie Haynes

Throughout Scripture, God never simply sends His people—He calls them, sets them apart, blesses them, equips them, and promises to go with them. From the Aaronic blessing in Numbers 6, where God placed His own name upon Israel, to the church at Antioch sending Barnabas and Saul with prayer and the laying on of hands, we see that every divine assignment begins with God's calling and is sustained by His faithfulness. Before there is a sending by the church, there is always a calling by God.

Paul's life beautifully illustrates this truth. Having finished his own race, he entrusted the Gospel to Timothy, charging him to "fulfill your ministry" and faithfully carry the torch to the next generation. The race did not end with Paul—it continued through Timothy, and it continues with us. God's servants may change, but God's mission never does.
